Nicole and Anthony met in the Army. Anthony retired after 23 years of service; Nicole is still serving. Their first “date” was in 2019 when Nicole called Anthony to ask him why he wasn’t at the Camp Dodge Wellness Center to work out with her. She had told him earlier during the day that he was going to work out with her after drill to which he stated, “bet I’m not” to her at the time. He didn’t have a good reason not so, so he drove all the way back to Camp Dodge to work out with his fellow platoon sergeant. She then convinced him to go out for Mexican and margaritas! They both had the Mexican food. She had the strawberry margarita with a sugar rim. Then, they played some pool. For the record, everything started on December 7th, 2019, after Saturday drill.

Anthony proposed on August 24th, 2024. Nicole had family photos scheduled for that day as the twins turned 9 years old. Anthony contacted the photographer and set up the proposal with her. During one of the shots, the photographer instructed Anthony to get done on one knee in front of Nicole and her to sit down on a chair with the children behind them. Lincoln yelled that it looked like Anthony was going to propose. Nicole rolled her eyes at Lincoln and told him Anthony wasn’t going to propose, and that’s when Anthony took the ring out of his pocket and asked. Nicole and the kids were caught by surprise, and it was a spectacular moment captured in photos.
